Problem with BIOS installation.
Problem with BIOS installation.
Acquired components for a complete upgrade: Ryzen 5 5600X, 5700X and a Gigabyte B550 AORUS Elite M. I expected a BIOS update, but it isn’t functioning. The BIOS flash LED doesn’t illuminate when pressed, and the USB port has a brief LED flash before turning off. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
B550 motherboards typically work with Ryzen 5000 series out of the box, even with older BIOS versions. There are two methods to update the BIOS: the traditional approach through UEFI menus or the newer Q-Flash button on the back panel. You can follow the official video guide for details. Download the BIOS file, format a USB drive using FAT32, and place only the BIOS file onto it—avoid adding anything to other folders. Ensure the power is on by flipping the PSU switch and pressing the Q-Flash Plus button. The BIOS flashing will continue for about 4 to 5 minutes until the LED stops blinking, indicating completion.
What type and dimensions does the USB storage device have? Did it get prepared during the BIOS setup process?
