Problem with BIOS file during MSI installation for B550M PRO-VDH WIFI6.
I've been attempting to upgrade the BIOS on my motherboard, which is an MSI B550M PRO-VDH WIFI6. The new BIOS file comes from the MSI website for this specific board. I've noticed the USB drive is detected but the file isn't appearing on the M-Flash screen. I've used various USB drives formatted with FAT32, from as small as 200MB to up to 64GB. I've tried using the BIOS flash button and placed the USB in the correct slot, renaming it to MSI.ROM. All efforts have been unsuccessful; I'm unsure what's going wrong. Seeking guidance on the next steps.
I'm curious about what happened with your setup. I see the one on msi.com is meant for Wi-Fi 5, not our Wi-Fi 6 model. Our version isn't listed there—only the Wi-Fi 5 option. I've attempted to update the BIOS, but the CPU light flashes and stays red continuously. I've tried everything myself, except that my board seems to be a prebuilt unit without a graphics card, just a new model (possibly called Codex). It came with an MSI case (Forge 100R) stating it has a Msi B550M Pro-VDH Wi-Fi 6 chipset and a 550W 80 Plus Bronze power supply from Apexgaming. I purchased three of these on Amazon. If anyone knows anything, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks! Happy gaming!
I also tried msi.rom or MSI.ROM, but the results were the same. Cleared CMOS before each attempt, but I'm still unsure.
