Random backlight occasionally shuts down and then turns back on, sometimes it works and other times it doesn’t. It happens regardless of whether the laptop is powered on with Windows or just through BIOS/startup. No issues reported, but you’re wondering if there’s a DIY fix.

Likely just a damaged cable connection.

I've verified the reconnecting the connectors at both ends, but the issue remains unchanged.

backlight activates roughly half the time after reinserting the display connector, though it still turns on occasionally. Additional problems have appeared—no fan noise during operation and the backlight stays on even when the laptop isn’t powered on fully.
