Hello, my Asus B550-E is having an issue with its second NVMe drive. One slot works perfectly with the SN750 1TB, but the other appears only sometimes. I've already filed a return request for the SN550 1TB, but the problem continues. I've installed a WD Blue SSD in the second M.2 slot, and it functions properly there too. The original SN750 was also in that slot before, so it worked initially. Whenever it disappears, it no longer shows up in BIOS, disk management tools, or the WD SSD software. The drive has been reinserted several times—sometimes it helps, other times it doesn't. The motherboard indicates two NVMe drives should be compatible, but I'm not sure why it's failing.

I noticed the same situation with the WD SN550 1TB being detected sporadically in the second slot of an Asus Strix B550-E. I own two boards and two drives, so I can recreate the problem using both boards and both drives. For the new setup, I’ve switched to PCIE4 drives in the first slot since they operate at that interface, while the older PCIE3 SN550s (which performed well in previous systems) are now placed in the second slot. On cold starts, the drive isn’t detected at all, but after a warm restart it’s detected around half the time and functions correctly. I’ve already submitted a support ticket with Asus and am awaiting their response.

This concern appears to be linked to the 1TB variant of the drive, since my other units include a 500GB SN550 which is unaffected by the issue.
Just to confirm, the 500GB SN550 works without issues in both M.2 slots? I own two 1TB SN550 units, and the one connected directly to the CPU runs perfectly.
