Problem with Audio: Logitech Speakers and Headset Not Functioning Correctly
Hello everyone,
I recently upgraded my PC configuration, transitioning from a compact ITX model to a more powerful system thanks to the increased capacity of my new graphics card. In addition to a new case, I also opted to replace the existing motherboard with another model.
I selected a spare motherboard I had on hand, the ASROCK B550 Pro 4, which had previously functioned well in my setup. After reinstalling Windows and installing the required drivers—including the latest audio driver (Realtek_Audio(v6.0.9468.1_Nahimic)) from the ASROCK website—I tried connecting my Logitech z407 2.1 speakers to the new motherboard using the provided AUX cable, inserting it into the audio output port on the IO plate (the one marked with a green circle).
Despite this, when I turned up the volume, I only heard static and distorted high-frequency noise. This issue persisted even when using a different AUX port. Interestingly, connecting my Sennheiser headset to the audio plug in my Lian Li 216 case, which also uses an AUX connection, produced the same result.
On the other hand, I was able to get audio output by linking my Logitech z407 speakers directly to my PC via Bluetooth. However, I suspect that audio quality through AUX should be better than Bluetooth, which makes this workaround less appealing as a long-term solution.
I mainly rely on a Fosi K5 Pro DAC for my headphones, connected via Type C USB at the back of the motherboard. Both this setup and the Logitech speaker problem point to potential issues with analog connections.
To ensure the AUX cable or connection isn’t the problem, I tested it on my Steam Deck, where everything worked perfectly.
Could this be a hardware fault, a driver/driver-related issue, or something else? Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
What is the current BIOS version for your motherboard? After reinstalling Windows and setting up the required drivers, including the newest audio driver (Realtek_Audio(v6.0.9468.1_Nahimic)) from the ASROCK website, I tried connecting my Logitech z407 2.1 speakers to the motherboard via the AUX cable, inserting it into the audio output socket on the IO plate. Could you tell me where you obtained the OS installer? Did you run the installation in an elevated command, such as right-clicking the installer and selecting Run as Administrator?
