Problem with Asus monitors.
Problem with Asus monitors.
I’m working with an Dell XPS 15 9520 running Windows 11 Pro. I’m using two external monitors: a 32-inch 4K Samsung screen connected via USB-C to a display port, and a 24-inch 1920x1200 Asus monitor linked through the Dell DA20 adapter, which has an HDMI output. To connect the Asus model, I use an HDMI to DVI cable. The Asus screen is named Asus C624BQ. This monitor has several small black spots across the display, likely caused by humidity. Previously, I noticed the menu button on the right side would flicker repeatedly whenever I pressed it quickly without any input. Usually, turning it off and back on resolved the issue. Recently, however, the flickering persists every time I power it on. If I press the menu button rapidly but don’t interact, the screen displays a series of shapes: a horizontal rectangle followed by a vertical one centered in the middle, moving slowly leftward, forming a box-like pattern. Inside this area appear the Asus logo, then DVI information, and finally a red X with arrows indicating direction. Only the power button functions; other controls remain unresponsive except for turning it off. Anyone know what’s causing this? How can I capture a photo or video of the problem? This monitor has been reliable for years, but the flickering now keeps occurring. I’ve tried unplugging and replugging the power adapter, but the issue persists. Is there a way to reset it back to its default state? Has anyone experienced something similar?
I'm talking about the menu button repeatedly flashing on the screen. It looks like a navigation menu appears at the bottom right after clicking a button, allowing you to move up or down. This keeps happening without any issue. I tried clicking all the buttons to stop it, but now it still occurs. Have anyone experienced this before? I turned off my laptop and unplugged the monitor, then restarted it. Now the logo appears, followed by DVI settings. The VGA displayport is selected, but it's constantly scrolling. There are highlighted arrows like Up, Down, X, and check marks. It seems a button might be stuck. Anyone have suggestions or advice?
In the first image, the Asus logo displays DVI with no signal—this is typical because the device isn’t linked to my laptop and only connected to a power source. When the monitor is turned on but not connected, the bottom-right corner of the screen appears as shown. The problem seems to be that the screen moves erratically: repeatedly pressing the up arrow causes the blue highlight to shift up and down. Once connected to the laptop, the situation changes, with pictures 2 through 5 showing movement patterns. On picture 2, after powering on, you see movement similar to picture 3 and 4, where the two connected rectangles shift right before stopping at the monitor’s edge. Around a second, B5 disappears. In picture 5, the display looks like it moved from the center (like picture 2) to the left side, and the background becomes more white instead of transparent. Pressing any button now either makes the background white or transparent. There are six buttons total; the sixth on the far right is the power button. These two sections cover half the screen. Pressing any of the other five buttons restores the second image with B5 and the rectangle, then moves fully to the right. I’m unsure what this means and how to fix it. Is there a chance I need to reset the monitor factory settings? Could there be a hardware fault? Anyone have experienced something similar or know how to resolve this?
