Problem with ASUS B550-F M.2_1 slot failing to detect SSD.
I'm dealing with a strange problem involving my storage devices. About a month ago I installed the 6900xt, and everything worked fine until recently. First it would restart and show up in BIOS instead of Windows. The M.2 slot in slot 1 disappeared completely. After opening the case, removing and reinserting the drive fixed the issue—Windows booted normally. But after a restart before work the next day, the drive vanished again. It seems to reappear when I swap it out or change settings like CSM or OS type. Later I thought about swapping the slot with slot 2, which didn’t fail and let me boot into Windows without issues. However, now slot 2 isn’t showing up at all in BIOS or Windows. I’ve tried enabling/disabling CSM and switching between different operating systems, but the drive still doesn’t show. My OS uses GPT as its partitioning method. Looking into forums, I found others face similar problems, often attributed to a BIOS glitch. I also revisited older firmware versions, which didn’t resolve it, and disabled AMD’s SAM feature. No overclocking is in use, and all other SATA drives are connected. The two M.2 drives I’ve tested repeatedly pass tests without errors. It’s unclear whether the problem lies in bandwidth or voltage settings (everything defaults in BIOS). I’m unsure what’s happening but would appreciate any guidance. ASUS B550-F Corsair 750W PSU AMD 5800x 6900xt 32GB RAM @3600MHz 2x1TB WD SN750 M.2 drives.
I changed the motherboards and now the m.2_1 appears. Probably a bad slot. It'll be seen later.
