Hello everyone, a few weeks back I finished a fresh installation and after the first stress test everything ran smoothly. Then strange glitches started appearing: some odd artifacts. Here’s what I have so far:

System specs:
- OS: Windows 11 PRO 64bit
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
- Cooler: Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE
- GPU: XFX Radeon RX 7900 XT SPEEDSTER MERC 310 Black Edition
- RAM: G.Skill DIMM 32 GB DDR5-6000 (2x16 GB)
- SSD: Samsung 990 PRO
- Heatsink: Fractal Design ION Gold 850W
- Storage: WD Black SN850X NVMe 4 TB
- HDD: Seagate IronWolf NAS 8 TB CMR
- PSU: Fractal Design ION Gold 850W
- Case: Noctua NF-A14 PWM
- Monitor base: be quiet!

Cooling: 7 fans, including a Noctua NF-A14 PWM unit.

Display: 2x GIGABYTE G27Q monitors, 2560x1440 resolution, 144Hz refresh. No HDR problems or error messages at first. Recently, artifacts appear right after launching the desktop. Sometimes no DP signal shows up when connected to the GPU (any DP port works).

Other notes:
- I left everything as default except letting AMD Adrenaline handle it automatically.
- Connections work fine with both DP and HDMI cables.
- No visual damage reported on GPU or motherboard, power delivery seems intact, and no other faults detected.

Testing the GTX 1060 with the B650 GAMING X AX V2 board: I’m unsure if it works properly yet. Any experience with similar issues? What caused these problems? Could I test the card directly on this motherboard? Thanks for your time!

I have not had this happen to me before, but I do know that it usually means a dead GPU. There's a chance that it's the cable, but that usually requires an extra GPU. Modern GPUs (Basically anything on PCIe, as PCI and AGP are ancient standards from pre-Vista days) are cross-compatible. The only thing you might want to worry about are drivers, but that's usually already handled by your OS.

This often indicates insufficient VRAM. However, in uncommon situations you might see comparable issues due to driver problems. Yes, testing with 1060 is possible. I suggest resetting drivers, using ddu. Once ddu starts, enter safe mode. After restarting back to safe mode, ddu will appear, open options within ddu. Enable the option to block Windows updates for driver installations. Return to clean and shutdown settings. Disconnect the power supply and reinsert the GPU. Power it back on. Reinstall Adrenalin again. DDU link: https://www.wagnardsoft.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4992 Driver: https://www.amd.com/en/support/downloads...00-xt.html

I sent the system to a reliable local repair shop and they completed all the necessary steps, including a BIOS update and disabling Adrenaline, which appeared to resolve the issue temporarily. It has been working again for five days, but the problem returned yesterday. I’m considering checking the VRAM now. Any suggestions on how to confirm this so I can proceed with the RMA for the POS GPU?

It occurs gradually over time. You can easily make it repeat continuously. For instance, superposition works this way. You can pick a game setting and switch to cinematic mode, letting it run until artifacts appear.

You're likely referring to the Unigine Superposition Benchmark. It doesn't include a cinematic mode unless you treat VR mode as cinematic.

Select game. Pick your preset or customize for borderless viewing while observing HWinfo64 simultaneously. Once in game, switch to cinematic mode. No VR needed.

I returned the card in December with a thorough letter stating I no longer want or can use it in any way, and they advised against contacting me unless it relates to a refund or exchange. Luckily, the card appears to be discontinued, and they sent me a Sapphire NITRO+ Radeon RX 7900 XT 20 GB as a replacement without extra charge. Overall, I’m calm about this situation and don’t feel the need to dismantle my setup for any supposed electrical interference. Thanks to everyone who shared their thoughts!
