I often switch tabs away from games and the screen becomes dimmer, requiring a click to clear it. This issue appears when I return in Valorant, with no mouse input detected. It seems to affect most of my games. I’m using Windows 10 with fully updated drivers and my hardware specs listed. Anyone have any advice?

Check if your system uses the newest BIOS for the motherboard. Verify AMD chipset drivers are installed. Determine if games display in fullscreen or windowed/borderless mode.

Your system was recently upgraded with a new chipset and BIOS, yet the issue continues across fullscreen, windowed fullscreen, and windowed modes. Resetting the Radeon driver didn’t resolve the problem either.

What portion of your memory is active? Are you utilizing XMP settings? Are your games playing on an HDD or SSD?

Valorant runs on your SSD and consumes 1.6 GB of RAM during startup, increasing to 1.8 GB when connected to Wi-Fi. RAM overclocking is active.

The issue occurs not only with the software but also on games running on your hard drive, such as Trackmania Nations Forever or btd6.

I discovered a method to bypass this problem! Pressing the icon in the taskbar while switching tabs with Alt-tab stops the screen from dimming. I’m still trying to figure out why this happens, but I’ve managed to resolve it so far!
