You can rely on your finger instead of pliers if you're strong enough. Use any tool that fits those hexagonal shapes tightly—wrench, pipe wrench, clamp, vise, or two thick utensils. Take two spoons (or a fork, butter knife, pen) and place one handle flat on one side of the hexagon, the other opposite. Press them together then turn while holding the screws with a screwdriver. (Or hold the hexagon steady while loosening the screws). You only need to slightly loosen it before continuing, then tighten the screws with a screwdriver while keeping the hex secure.
Use pliers on the nut/bolt while keeping the screwdriver steady. Or if your hands are small enough to hold on, go for it.
