I purchased the Samsung Odyssey G3 24" 144Hz monitor around eight months ago. During this period, I had to replace it because it stopped functioning after just four months of use. Recently, the screen suddenly turned black with fading white lines. Even after unplugging it and restarting, no fix was found. I experimented with various HDMI cables and connected it to different PCs without success. Then I connected another monitor—60Hz—and it worked fine. However, when trying 120 or 144Hz, the same issues resurfaced.

My system specs are:
- AMD Ryzen 5 3400G (4.1GHz)
- Asus B450M-A motherboard
- 32GB Corsair 3200MHz RAM
- Cooler Master MWE550 BRONZE V2
- Using HDMI cable due to integrated graphics
- Motherboard lacks a display port

I also tried Chroma Subsampling and FreeSync, but they didn’t resolve the problem. I reached out to Samsung, who sent someone to inspect the monitor and then contacted a technician. The technician mentioned that 1080p at 144Hz would only work with DisplayPort, even though HDMI should support it with chroma subsampling. However, he remained unconvinced.

According to the Samsung Quick Manual, 1080p at 144Hz is compatible with DisplayPort, but FreeSync doesn’t guarantee it either. Samsung hasn’t addressed my case. Currently, I have a 144Hz 1080p display that only functions at 60Hz.

The 3400G supports 144Hz and is capable of that performance.

It supports 144Hz on the screen, but struggles to achieve 144fps during gameplay.

It's unclear if this would assist, as a friend became upset with Samsung because their monitor was stuck at 60Hz while the computer's refresh rate was adjusted.

I attempted all options too, including setting a custom resolution and frame rate to check if that resolves the issue

Could it relate to software updates? Have you attempted to refresh the BIOS, remove the display adapter, and reinstall it?
