I'm still trying to understand what's happening. The issue seems to be with the connection or compatibility between your setup and her system. It might be related to the motherboard or the way components are paired.

Reset the CMOS on her circuit just in case the BIOS reacted negatively to the 1600.

I really thought this was the first time CMOS fixed my issue. No luck. The GPU is using a budget DP to HDMI adapter—no HDMI built in, just Radeon. That’s probably the final thing I’m considering when troubleshooting. I’m starting to give up.

Consider using HDMI to HDMI for a direct connection. Dp to HDMI should work as well.

X570 modules accept only Ryzen 2xxx models, not the 1xxx line. The 1600 chipset requires a minimum of 2200G or newer. A few boards can run the 1600 AF variant, but not the standard 1600.

Several boards function well using the 1000 series, even though it isn't officially approved. He mentioned the 1600 also works on his identical X570 board.

I'm not entirely sure I understand your message. The list outlines official compatibility details. Similar to how charts indicate A320 boards aren't compatible with 3000 series, it's also true that many X570 boards can work with 1000 series. This is supported by the fact that the user has a functioning 1600 in their working X570. The main factor seems to be the AGESA code in the BIOS containing the right microcode for each CPU type. Some boards lack space and don't have all components, while many X570 models include microcode for all Ryzen processors.

I tried to wrap things up here. Purchased another motherboard but it didn’t work. Removed every component from her and connected them to mine one by one. Returned the first board and bought a third. The system is now fully functional. I don’t recall ever having a smooth upgrade before. Also, just to confirm, the Ryzen 1000 series definitely had the 1600 listed in the supported CPUs, otherwise I wouldn’t have picked this board for an upgrade. It’s strange it isn’t available anymore. I seem to have used three different boards with various AGESA codes. One shut down right away, another started up but no display, and the last finally worked without any problems.
