Problem resolved: USB G10 not detected on network.
My AsRock router has a USB port for home NAS. It wasn't working or I couldn't locate it on my network. I contacted AsRock support, who advised that best customers are prioritized. We attempted repairs for three days, but after some troubleshooting, the fix came from enabling SMB 1.0/CFIS file sharing in Windows 1803. This feature was previously disabled in earlier versions. Follow these steps: open Control Panel → Programs → Turn Windows Features on/off → SMB 1.0/CFIS (ensure it's enabled). Your PC will restart, and the issue should resolve. Hope this helps!
You're aware that SMB1.0 poses a vulnerability, allowing malicious software to spread across the network. This exposes a significant security risk, as any infected device in your system could be compromised. The threat isn't limited to ransomware—it's a publicly available exploit that could be used by any type of malware.
I checked it and seems to be limited to versions from 1903 and 1909, with updates coming soon. I'll monitor that. https://portal.msrc.microsoft.com/en-US/.../adv200005
