Problem! Old files missing from DVD-RW after burning various files.
I've never written anything onto any CD, since I assumed my reader only reads media. But today I experimented with a RW-DVD and believe the burning succeeded! The old files are gone now. In the photo below you'll notice some space is occupied by new data [important], so I'm hoping the important files remain. I used BurnAware, and the files I created were just 1 mb and not crucial... Need help!
It seems like you're thinking it simply swaps the files during burning. That’s likely the intended outcome.
Apologies for the delayed response; I think you're correct. I was playing around again and made an .iso of the DVD, which helped locate my files. Now I need to re-burn them. Peace!
