Started with 16 GB of RAM and it worked fine at 3600 MHz, but now with 32 GB it only boots at 2133 MHz. Everything else looks identical. I’ve tried different speeds and even reached 3200 MHz without success. I’m having trouble getting it to start. I need to keep updating the BIOS and clearing it to make it reboot. The motherboard uses an Asus AM4 socket.

Started with 16 GB of RAM and it worked fine at 3600 MHz, but now with 32 GB it only boots at 2133 MHz. Everything else looks identical. I’ve tried different speeds and even reached 3200 MHz without success. I’m having trouble getting it to start. I need to keep updating the BIOS and clearing it to make it reboot. Check if you're employing XMP/DOCP or adjusting the frequency yourself. Also, confirm whether you're modifying the DRAM voltage.

It seems your motherboard probably allows flexible memory settings, as 3600 MHz at 1.2V would likely trigger crashes or instability in most systems. I suspect the RAM was designed to work at a minimum of 1.3V, possibly around 1.35V. Using four sticks adds extra demand on both CPU and memory, often requiring slightly higher voltages for each component. Since CPU models vary widely, it's difficult to give a definitive answer. AMD’s official guidelines for Zen 3 and 4 single-channel modules state 2933, so if you manage to exceed that, your processor is performing well.

For a 32GB configuration, consider replacing your setup with a 2x16 configuration (I run it at 3600 without issues).
