After some time I observed that my RAM was operating at 2666mhz, so I adjusted it to 3600mhz and that caused the issue to begin. Once the RAM was set, my PC would freeze at the desktop. I tried reinstalling the BIOS to revert it back to 2666mhz, but it didn’t work. Even after the reset, the PC would freeze again within 3 to 5 seconds, showing a black screen but no BSOD. Please assist! Your specs are a Ryzen 7 3700X B450m Pro 2 TUF, 650W FSP dagger, 8GB RAM, XPG 3600mhz.

the 3700x can handle up to 3200mhz, but using 3600mhz may cause instability—your system might crash or freeze. it’s rare to run at 3600mhz on a 3700x and B450, but you could try 3200mhz instead. consider switching to a RAM model with 3200mhz CL16 or even CL14, which would perform better with Ryzen processors. your current RAM’s CAS latency is CL18, so 3200mhz with lower latency like CL16 or CL14 would be more suitable.

The 3700X supports up to 3200, not 3600. The CPU memory controller isn’t rated for 3600 and using it could cause issues. It’s safer to stick to 3200 or a similar number. To reset the BIOS, you can either clear the CMOS or simply reset the RAM settings.

Do you need a RAM suggestion? This could really save you time. I’ll order it right away!

I performed both the reset and screw method, managed to boot into BIOS and noticed the RAM was active at 2666MHz, though it kept freezing. I had been using this computer for a long time at that speed before making the change.

It’s ideal to configure CL/CAS as Auto once speed is set, allowing the MB to determine optimal timing.

I'll check my response on Jan10,2023. The RAM I ordered should be delivered by Jan09,2023.
