I faced no problems earlier with inserting disks, but now playing music from CDs isn’t working. I hear the rotation but there’s no output. Do you know a solution? All systems seem fine internally.

Did you test another CD and it worked? If yes, clean your CD. If your drive is faulty, replace it with a new one. You can find it for about $10 at any hardware store.

I've tested many CDs, but I'm unsure why they fail. The computer isn't exposed to any shocks or static, yet it still doesn't function. My usage of the hard drive is minimal.

Make sure it’s connected, otherwise replace it. It’s affordable—about $10 for a DVD drive.

No, you should not plug your ROM SATA into another port. It’s designed for a specific connection to ensure proper functionality.

I’d use a can of compressed air inside the drive for cleaning if the dust didn’t remove on the lid. The lenses might have gathered while not in use. Is this a laptop disk or a regular optical drive? …If it’s a laptop, just open the drive and wipe the lenses with a Q-tip and rubbing alcohol, making sure no streaks remain. For a standard model, you’ll need to take apart the housing slightly—usually only a few screws are involved—and you should see lenses beneath the tray.

Is it listed on my computer? I’ve faced problems restoring partitions without a drive letter, so I’m considering reassigning them to get them shown in Windows Explorer. It might not always work, but it’s worth a shot.

Purchase a fresh optical drive—they’re extremely affordable these days. My sister got one for me during my build since I missed placing an order initially; it was around $20 at Walmart and supports Blu-ray, CDs, DVDs, and more.

No, I didn't read "disk" as a slang term. It might be a typo or a different context. Let me know if you meant something else!
