Hi! I'm trying a new PC after two years of fixing old rust issues. But this thing is acting really bad. It's getting about 110 frames per second, but if I move my mouse or click something, the drop goes straight to fifty or sixty frames and then stays stuck there at sixty or under. My old computer had an i5-2400 with a GTX 1030 card, and it ran the game smoothly with 60 to 80 fps without any sudden drops. I'm using something new now that should be faster, but nothing has improved performance yet. Even though I checked both low and high settings, the results are still the same.

Check if the computer's heat level is too high for a game to run properly. Don't try to boost your graphics card speed beyond its limit, make sure you have the latest drivers installed, and reinstall any games that need updating.

New setup with no high-end settings, the processor and graphics card are running at a steady 65 degrees Celsius.

I used to have win10 pro and it was terrible. I looked at different free computers online but they all had exactly the same speed. It's actually impossible to play, because my computer from eight years ago does way better than my new one when playing games.

Is there a specific power supply unit, what computer parts did you use, how hot were the CPU or GPU when playing the game, and how much memory did your RAM or hard drive get used on?

I tried a few different PSUs, including those with resolutions like 1680x1050. The PSU is a cooler master 550W model and it's actually pretty cool; the CPU temp stays between 55 and 70 degrees Celsius, never really hitting 70 even when there are spikes. My GPU also sits around 70C with just one fan attached after hours of use. It looks like my other PSU is failing or something is going wrong there, so I'll need to change it out soon. I have RAM at about 13-14GB from a box that holds more, but Windows only uses the 13-14GB part. The SSD isn't being used much, only like 5-10% of its capacity right now.
