Problem following CPU overclock on i58600K
Hey there! After the recent Windows upgrade, I boosted my i58600k to 4.9 with a voltage of 1.35V. It’s working smoothly and passed the Intel burn test without any problems. Still, I notice occasional freezes lasting a second or two, after which everything resumes. The issue happens randomly, not during specific games or tasks, and even after some adjustments—since the initial boost was only 5GHz but was reduced due to the burn test failure. I’m new to overclocking, so I’m unsure if the CPU is the problem or if the Windows installation is faulty. Could be either, or maybe something else is at play. What should I do next?
I use various methods to lower the CPU temperature, such as proper airflow, cooling fans, and thermal paste application. Current readings show a stable temperature range around 45°C to 55°C. I haven’t completed the delidding process yet.
I own a cooler with master liquid. It runs at about 40 and climbs to 70. Yep, I did the delidding.
Reduce the clock speed to 4.8. If stability isn't achieved, slightly increase the voltage. It might perform adequately in tests but could remain unstable in real-world use.
If it remains steady at the base clocks, then it's a positive sign.
