In recent months I've purchased PC components for a fresh build aimed at replacing my old machine which has been with me for about seven years. I regard myself as reasonably skilled with PCs and have turned to forums only when necessary. I still use the same GPU, but all other parts have been swapped out. My motherboard is an MSI B550 A pro, CPU is a Ryzen 5 5600X, RAM consists of four 8GB modules at 3600MHz (Vengeance LPX DDR4 CMK16GX4M2D3600C18), an SSD of 970 EVO Plus, currently uninstalled but intended for the boot drive, a MSI AMD RX580 GPU, and a 550W power supply. After installing everything and thoroughly verifying all connections, I attempted to boot and was met with no display. The debug indicator pointed to the CPU, but after rebooting it displayed VGA before proceeding to boot. I reinserted the RAM, GPU, and CPU, double-checked all cables, replaced the HDMI cable, and even tried using the old SSD from an Intel system along with a Windows USB boot drive, but nothing worked. The symptoms remain consistent except for the debug light, which fluctuates between CPU and VGA, occasionally showing just boot without DRAM. I cleared the CMOS by shorting and removing the battery, yet no success. I attempted to flash the BIOS via USB, suspecting a BIOS issue, though the LED on my board didn’t stay lit or flash properly—it only activated when I pressed the button and then shut off. I experimented with different RAM configurations, ensured the MOBO was mounted correctly, used another M.2 slot, searched extensively online, but found nothing functional. Some models don’t come with zen3 built in. You might need a previous processor version to install it. Where is the connection for your display cable located?
