I encounter a blue screen issue where the Event Viewer displays "source kernel power Event ID 41 Task category (63)." I've updated all my drivers and Windows, completed stress tests, and temperatures are normal. I ran SFC scan and other diagnostics, but no clear cause is found. My system runs an RX 9070 XT, ASRock Z890 Pro-A with Wi-Fi, Kingston FuryBeast 5600 MHz 16 GB RAM, Intel Core Ultra 7 265 GHz, Arctic Freezer III Pro, plus a 850W Gold Plus 80 TUF gaming power supply. Please help. Edited May 12, 2025 by Rasmus.U

I encountered a problem with AMD's newest GPU driver from their site dated 5-8-2025, version Adrenaline 25.5.1. It triggered a blue screen, so I switched back to an older driver. This resolved the issue for me. Also keep in mind that a Windows update could install a GPU driver even after you've manually installed one.

Yah, it may, except if you turn that off. Press Win + R, type sysdm.cpl , and open System Properties. Go to the Hardware tab, then Device Installation Settings. Select "No" and click OK.

It's going to require updating the GPU drivers. The simplest method is using DDU, and within the settings you can enable or disable the option that stops Windows Update from installing drivers.

Recent motherboard BIOS updates, newest chipset drivers, latest SSD firmware versions, and any GPU VBIOS releases are being checked. System health indicators such as hard disk status are also reviewed. Information from WhoCrashed and BlueScreenView is gathered for reference.
