Problem encountered while trying to start from the USB drive.
I put Ubuntu in last night’s installation but it didn’t work. Now the laptop doesn’t seem to boot from the USB stick. I can see it in BIOS, but when I try to start it, it just skips. My machine is an Acer Aspire 7730 (old). I’ve tried burning the ISO directly onto the HDD, but nothing works. Anyone have suggestions?
Ubuntu might interfere with your bootloader. GRUB, the standard Ubuntu installer, can sometimes create problems if your hard drive setup changed or partitions were resized after installation. You could test by disconnecting the drive where Ubuntu is installed and attempting to boot using a USB drive instead.
I adjusted the boot sequence. I also took out the internal hard drive from the BIOS to check if it would attempt to boot from the USB drive.
Unable to modify settings. The BIOS is adjusting time and selecting boot sequence.
