I have an ASUS TUF GAMING z599-plus and I’m stuck with a DRAM light. I’ve checked the farthest DIMM slots, but they only work when I move closer. I thought 16GB would be enough, so I turned it off, moved the RAM to the farthest slots, and reassembled it. Now the DRAM LED is back on again. Please help me.

It seems the issue might stem from insufficient RAM, faulty CPU connections, or damaged motherboard traces. Could you tell me the type of RAM you purchased? Are its specifications compatible with your motherboard and processor?

I own a Pinnacle RAM module that performs well overall, though adding a 2TB M.2 has caused problems. Some previously detected SATA drives are now missing from the list.

Pinnacle? Are you using some non-standard products to cut costs? Your motherboard probably won’t support both PCI-e and SATA together since your M.2 slot might only use SATA rails, not PCI-e as you think. It really depends on the specific model.

I need to purchase fresh RAM but I’m hesitant if the motherboard or processor isn’t in good condition. Also, the existing RAM modules seem limited to only fitting in the two farthest slots from the CPU.

There are only a few firms that actually produce memory; most others focus on heat spreaders and branding rather than the actual product. @Devonte188 Your testing techniques seem quite basic. Typically, you shouldn't place RAM in the nearest or farthest slots for two modules. The best setup for most boards is the 2nd and 4th slots (counting left to right from the CPU socket). You should check your board's manual for confirmation. If I were you, I'd test each RAM stick separately in its own slot rather than putting both together.

Regardless, try installing more RAM in your slots first before assuming a problem with RAM or motherboard.

I understand that's the unusual aspect. In that setting, I saw a Dram light and tried another RAM, but it produced the same outcome. I’m not sure if I described it correctly, but I also reset the CMOS and didn’t see any changes.
