Problem destroying floor 2 stops working right after startup. Bugsplat appears to help. System: Windows 8.1 x64 (Windows 10 likely similar). Attempts made before fixing. Game files seem intact. Event logs show no driver or dependency issues. Log file located at %userprofile%\documents\my games\killingfloor2\kfgame\logs. ... [0001.99] Important: appError reported failure to locate Core package for async preloading. [0001.99] Important: Windows GetLastError says the file isn’t found. (2) [0003.14] Critical log entry: Failed to find file for package Core for async preloading. Address 0xfdbcaaad in C:\Windows\system32\KERNELBASE.dll. Address 0x3fc09cc5 in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\killingfloor2\Binarie s\Win64\KFGame.exe. ... [repeated error patterns] Many users tried reinstalling the game, updating drivers, fixing DX11, or changing frameworks. I shared a workaround that worked for me. The key message was missing file for Core during async preloading. Probably the file got damaged when the game crashed unexpectedly because of a bad OC. SOLUTION: Remove the folder with logs, preference files, cachefiles, and any related items from the userprofile directory. Just run these commands in CMD as admin if you don’t mind: taskkill /f /im steam* rmdir /q /s "%userprofile%\documents\my games\killingfloor2". Start the game. Stay safe and succeed."
