Hey there, just finished setting up my new PC with the 3080 and 5900x, paired it with an Asus ROG motherboard. I saw the temps were way higher than expected for an AIO cooler. Got a few questions: 1) Do AIO coolers need some time to warm up before they perform optimally? 2) Can I tweak something in ASUS' BIOS to make CPU speeds adjust based on workload? 3) What reliable testing tools are there for beginners that give accurate temperature readings? The most dependable tool for checking AMD temps and speeds is HWiNFO64. It’s not the easiest for beginners, but once you get the hang of it, it’s manageable. It lacks simple visual graphs unless you use other programs. If dust or air gets trapped in the CPU, it might improve performance over time, though overall AIOs tend to drop after the first day. Yes, and no—this is how PBO functions. When the processor isn’t under stress, it usually runs around 3.6GHz (exact base clock varies). But when a load appears, it can boost one or two cores to near 5GHz and adjust voltage accordingly.
