I upgraded my graphics card from 1650 to 5060 and noticed significant performance drops. When usage hits 20-30% in Task Manager, the sound becomes unnatural. This issue appears regardless of whether I'm playing games or using other applications on the desktop. Both high GPU and CPU utilization while sitting on the machine are present. I've updated the BIOS, drivers, switched to PCIe Gen 3.0 (the latest supported by my motherboard) but the problem continues. Before installing the GPU, I used DDU to clear all drivers, and NVIDIA indicated the monitor might be the problem since it's 1080p. My benchmark data shows the 1650 actually outperforms the 5060. In GPU-Z begin the render test by locating the question-mark next to Bus Interface → verify if it transitions from 1.1 to 3.0/4.0/5.0. Ensure “PCIe ASPM / power saving” is turned off in BIOS and set Windows power plan to High Performance. Update motherboard BIOS and chipset drivers. If the slot is Gen3-only, manually force it in BIOS without enabling Auto. If it still resists leaving PCIe 1.1, it may indicate a motherboard compatibility problem with the new 5060. Update your chipset or ME drivers through the motherboard manufacturer instead of using Windows Update. This is the most common reason for PCIe problems. If the issue persists, run the 5060 on a Gen4/Gen5 board to verify if the problem lies with the board or GPU compatibility.
