I own a Lexmark XS463de AIO laser printer. It works well when printing from Firefox but struggles otherwise, showing a busy status without recovery. Google suggested resetting the print settings in Firefox. I tried clicking the reset button but it didn’t solve the issue. Any suggestions for a possible fix? Thanks in advance.

Google instructed to reset Firefox print settings. Which button was pressed? What kind of document file is involved? Where does the document come from? Any error codes related to printing issues in Reliability History or Event Viewer when documents fail to print and the printer doesn't recover? Further details are required.

If you open Firefox, press the hamburger icon in the top right, pick Help, then choose more troubleshooting details. Move down to printing and click the gray button Clear Saved Print Settings. It doesn't work. The document begins as a PDF. Either download it and print it as a PDF, which functions correctly, or open the image in Firefox using the long URL, which isn't a PDF. Printing from there causes the problem. There are no error messages except 'busy'. Thanks.

In Firefox navigate to the hamburger icon, choose Settings.
Move down to the Applications section and scroll through the "Content Type" column.
For "Portable Document Format (PDF)" what action appears?
What is your current Firefox setting? (For example, "Open in Firefox").
You should be able to click in that column field to see other options.
Consider trying something that seems most relevant or experiment a bit more.
This may help fix the issue directly or give you additional details.

I changed the method from Open in Firefox to use the default application on Windows. I also tried opening it with Adobe Acrobat, but the behavior stayed the same. I believe I’ll just download PDFs in Firefox for printing if there’s no better way. As a final option, I’m going to boost the printer memory. Thanks.
