Problem detected with rendering speed at 120 or 144 frames per second.
I played Fortnite at 120/144 fps but nothing rendered properly, and it stutters heavily. When I switch to 60fps it works fine. The monitor is 144Hz with these settings. My CPU has two cores, 8GB RAM, and the motherboard is Z270P-D3-CF. I also play COD on 144fps which is slow but everything else runs okay. Any suggestions?
You're asking about the meaning of "on 120/144fps" and whether Fortnite offers settings for FPS or refresh rate. It seems you're wondering if the game actually lets you adjust these technical parameters. You mentioned not using VSync and suspect a CPU limitation, noting that most games sync to the monitor's refresh rate. The idea is that a Pentium 2c/4t might be restricting performance, so a minimum of an i3 or i5 is recommended.
They support adjusting the frame rate from 30 to unlimited. When I set higher values like 120 or 144 and launch a game, the visuals match the reference image and rendering takes about a minute. VSync is disabled. What advice would you give since you've tried many fixes online but nothing worked?
I faced this problem before and resolved it by upgrading my system. It’s a good idea to close all background processes, lower the frame rate, and slightly adjust render distance. If that doesn’t help, you might need to upgrade your CPU—your GPU should handle Fortnite just fine. What resolution are you using? You could try lowering it if you’re on a high-res setting. Also, switching to windowed mode in full screen might improve performance. Hope this assists!
Thank you for your message. I purchased an i5-7500 CPU, but it continues to experience the same problem during gameplay. COD works without issues. I've adjusted all settings to low and checked various online solutions, but nothing has helped.
