Hello, I'm experiencing a problem where my power button doesn't work and manually shorting the pins also fails.
My POST speaker is silent with no fan activity.
I suspect a power supply issue, but testing with another working PSU didn't help.
Things I've tried:
- A different power supply
- CPU works on another system
- Only one RAM stick
- Replacing all components and rebooting
- Booting with just CPU and RAM connected
Details:
Specs – AMD Ryzen 3600, Asus Prime B450M-A II, Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8GB, Rosewill Semi-Modular 80 Plus Bronze, XFX Radeon 6700XT
I've used this PC for a few years and recently replaced the motherboard.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I suspect a power supply problem but tested it with a working unit and the issue persists.
Try a different PSU.
Could you share the make and model of the PSU you used for troubleshooting?
Rosewill Semi-Modular 80 Plus Bronze – this is the brand and its advertised efficiency rating. What is the model number and age of the PSU in question?
Asus Prime B450M-A II
Your motherboard includes a BIOS FlashBack feature, the black button on the back;

I tried the flashback and it worked well (light stopped flashing), but the same issue persisted.
I managed to get some functionality from the motherboard—it at least powered on fully, though it wouldn’t turn on again after I tried to connect my graphics card.
The testing power supply is a new Aresgame 650 watt, and my current one is also 650 watt.
It’s currently running my friend’s computer without any problems.
I also successfully started the original power supply by shorting the pins on the ATX cable.
