I've been trying to set up Linux Mint on my ASUS E402S for two days using various tools to create the installation USB. I've used programs like Win32DiskImager, Etcher, LinuxLive USB Creator, and Rufus. Some installations recognized by the BIOS work, while others don't. Even when detected, some systems freeze during boot and others show errors like "isolinux.bin missing or corrupt." I've installed Linux many times on different desktops, including my Lenovo Y510P, but this BIOS is giving me trouble. I'm reaching out for any advice, especially if you've used other USB ports before.

I changed it to a 16GB Kingston and a 32GB SanDisk.

Start a virtual machine on your current system and attempt to install Linux from the USB drive into it. If successful, the hardware and distribution appear correct; the problem likely lies elsewhere.

Oracle VM VirtualBox is very simple to install and configure. It guides you through each stage. It's completely free. We're only checking the USB stick and installation process. Begin with that, let us know your feedback.

Thanks for your assistance. The issue was with the distribution I used. I tried a different version of Mint—no cinnamon needed, it functioned on the VM and laptop.
