I recently switched to a TP-Link ax3000 wireless router to run an openVPN server for my network. It’s been working well so far. The VPN connection is fully functional, letting me access printers and the router remotely via VPN. I can even connect to my network computers using remote desktop. However, I can only reach them through their IP addresses—none appear in Windows Explorer. I suspect this is because the router assigns the VPN traffic to a different subnet. I’ve set up a general policy to allow VPN connections, which lets me access SMB shares by entering the host’s IP. But when I try to use the host name, it doesn’t work. All devices are running Windows 10 Pro.
