Hey there, I'm looking at my Skylake rig with a Gigabyte Ga-Z170X Gaming5. I've got two Samsung NVMe drives and sometimes the boot sequence shifts around. The ports are labeled M2D_32G and M2H_32G, which I thought meant M2D should come first—Windows 10 should boot there—but when I check BIOS it shows the M2H drive above M2D. Should I rearrange the drives to keep Windows 10 as the top priority, or is there another way to fix this? I want Windows 10 to always start first and have the other drives ready for pressing F12.

You choose the Windows boot manager as the main option. It only randomly switches when the system fails from intense use, aside from that. If moving drives physically places Windows first, go for it. I’m limited to specific areas for NVMe because they take GPU lanes and caused occasional lag when used together.
