PRIME X570-PRO PCH fan issues
Your PCH fan is making noise, and you think you can fix it yourself—good! But finding the correct part number is tricky. Since you don’t want to disassemble your computer often, consider checking online forums or your motherboard manufacturer’s website for the exact model. If you need help identifying the part, let me know what details you have. Better safe than replace everything!
It sounds like a buzzing or humming sound, possibly from a fan running too fast. It might also resemble a buzzing when a bearing isn’t performing well.
The X570 board typically uses 40mm fans. You can simply purchase a standard 40mil fan with a 10mm thickness, remove just the blades, impeller, and cables, then install it as needed.
Thanks! I've reached out to support, but ASUS seems uninterested in assisting. The board is four years old and the warranty expired a year ago. Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) isn't available anymore. They keep sending me distributors in Kenya, but those aren't helpful either.
I'm not a specialist, but I've noticed some discussions about changing the thermal paste on that device. It seems like people are wondering if it could prevent the fan noise from drying out and causing issues like rattling or sudden speed changes. Of course, this might not stop the noise entirely, but it could help with occasional spikes or performance dips.
