I made the latest changes to my PC yesterday and now have two lingering problems. After upgrading, the system setup didn’t quite match the new hardware. CPU, motherboard, RAM, WiFi, and storage configurations are all aligned. The GPU and add-on cards are properly connected. Windows 11 was installed cleanly, BIOS updated, and all drivers were updated. BIOS options like EXPO I and PBO are active, Thunderbolt support is enabled, but Fast Boot remains disabled.

Issue 1: After restarting, the PC won’t boot normally (stuck at VGA LED). It works when cold. I tried switching displays to the motherboard HDMI or GPU HDMI, but the problem persists. Sometimes after a few minutes the motherboard logo appears on the secondary display, yet the system freezes completely—keyboard unresponsive and no access to BIOS.

Issue 2: Game crashes during "The First Descendant" (Unreal Engine 5). It runs for about 15 minutes before freezing with delayed frame updates and choppy audio. After crashing, the system freezes briefly (~10 seconds) before rebooting. Other titles like Assassin’s Creed, Cyberpunk 2077, and another UE5 game work fine. The GPU driver is the latest NVIDIA 576.28, though some users report bugs in newer versions. Stress tests passed without overheating or hardware failures.

Event logs during crashes show multiple errors, including issues with power state transitions, register reading failures, and device connection problems. Error codes suggest possible hardware or driver conflicts.

Recommendations:
- Check BIOS settings for any conflicting entries.
- Verify GPU drivers are fully updated and compatible.
- Test with a different USB port or cable to rule out port issues.
- Consider resetting the motherboard BIOS if stability improves.
- If the issue persists, run a clean Windows installation or reinstall the OS.

Let me know if you’d like help interpreting any specific log entries or troubleshooting steps!

Following the default BIOS configuration and modifying one setting at a time resolved the problems. In the AMD PBS settings for Asus BIOS, there are separate options for USB4 Configuration and Thunderbolt/USB4 Configuration, which cannot be used together. I turned on the USB4 Support feature after activating Thunderbolt/USB4 Support, but didn’t see it automatically switch the Thunderbolt option off. Consequently, my Thunderbolt 4 dock is now operating in USB4 mode, though the exact reason for this change remains unclear. The main issue appears to be fixed.
