During the process of handling my case, I unintentionally powered off my PC. Fortunately, I didn’t lose anything, though it was somewhat bothersome. Can I adjust the settings so that pressing the power button while the system is running has no effect?

Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options > Select button actions > Modify setting: "When I press the power button" to "Nothing".
