Hello, I'm thinking about upgrading my Ryzen 3 3200G to a Ryzen 5 3600. Should I do more than just swap the CPU? I'm using the stock cooler and wondering if any BIOS changes are necessary since I don't need to reinstall Windows. My system currently has an M.2 GeForce GTX 1050 with 2GB LPDDR5, and I plan to upgrade it to a Gigabyte 2060 RTX APU or an AMD Ryzen 3 3200G motherboard. The motherboard is Gigabyte 520M RAM, HyperX Fury DDR4 2666MHz 8GB memory, an old optical drive, a Corsair 500W silver 80+ power supply, a Kingston 480GB SSD with OS installed, and a Case with a fractal design in black PCIe SVIVE Gaming Virga Network card.

Upgrading the CPU should be feasible without modifying the BIOS settings, as it belongs to the same generation.

It wasn't clear if upgrading was simple since my CPU was causing a bottleneck in GTA 5.

Technically, the Ryzen 3200G runs on Zen+ technology, whereas the non-APU Ryzen 3600 uses Zen2. The A520 chipset motherboard should already support the Ryzen 3600 without any changes. However, if your motherboard's BIOS is outdated (over a few revisions), it might be beneficial to update it as well.
