Hey everyone. These RAM sticks look really affordable, but they’re actually red and stand out quite a bit. I’m managing to save about £20. Is the low price because of the color or because it’s a poor brand? I trust Crucial for reliable storage, but are these RAMs good quality? Check this link for more info: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B083...ct_title_1

It's a good brand, but you may want to consider alternatives like these: https://www.newegg.com/g-skill-32gb-288-...kU_MARYG6A. They match the same performance and timing but are more affordable.

You could reduce expenses by opting for a 16GB option.

I switched to a 16GB kit. I believe we won’t need 32GB RAM anytime soon. Perhaps I miscalculated. However, all I see is that people say 32GB is excessive. Also, future-proofing isn’t so important because speeds and configurations might change.

You hit the nail on the head. It’s definitely under 16GB, and it gives me a better speed boost plus more space between the dimming ports.

On my end, after taxes and shipping, extra charges are added to the cost, bringing it to £168. We might benefit from a National Health Service offering free medical care, though we still contribute some costs.

RAM capacity is solid...xD...I can allocate 24GB for Minecraft but it only consumes up to 12GB at a time. Running all game launchers plus Minecraft and Chrome gives around 18.8GB total. When background programs are off, Windows and other tasks use about 4.3GB.

I accept and if budget wasn’t a concern, I’d have gone for a 32GB RAM (2x16) setup. But since I also want to upgrade my CPU and fix my storage problems, I need to set aside some funds. Upgrades on the way: swap Ryzen 5 2600 for RYZEN 5 3600 for £155 (replacing cooler with Noctua for around £30), switch M.2 SATA SSD 250GB WD to NVMe 1TB SSD for £100, and replace the 2.5" 2TB SSHD with a 6GB HDD for £120. That’s my plan in that sequence. If you check my specs, what do you think? I might recoup about £80 from selling the M2 SATA 250GB and the 2.5" 2TB SSD on eBay after fees. CORSAIR CARBIDE 275R BLACK Asus B450F rog strix motherboard, 16GB CORSAIR 2666MGZ DDR4 RAM (dual channel 2x4GB + 2x4GB), from Monday to Crucial Ballistix 16GB (2x8GB) 3200MHZ CPU, GIGABYTE RX 5700 XT gaming SSD, M.2 SATA SSD 250GB NVME for £500, Samsung Partition 1 150GB (OS), PARTITION 2 350GB (GAMEZ), 3.5" 1TB Seagate HDD, 2.5" 2TB SSD, Corsair Cw550 PSU, Windows 10 HOME OS.

32gigs of RAM seems too much for a motherboard with faulty VRMs. Consider upgrading to something like the MSI B450 Tomahawk Max. Allocate just 2TB HDD and a 500GB SSD. Save the money to get a Ryzen 5 3600 instead of the older 2600 series parts, and the GPU will still be decent.
