Hello, your PC setup has remained stable until recently. In January, unusual behavior began—when you powered it on, the fans would spin up for about 20 seconds before shutting down. After that, it would restart multiple times until it cooled and worked normally. Your specs are solid: Gigabyte Aorus Z390 Wifi Pro ITX rev i9 9900k, 32GB Corsair Vengeance Pro, Samsung 970 PRO GA RTX 2070OC. You’ve used it for most of 2020-2021 with regular morning usage, no problems. A BIOS update to version 3 was applied recently. You suspect XMP might have been enabled earlier this year, possibly causing those periodic pre- and post-boot cycles. The 64 stability tests ran for four hours, and gaming sessions stayed crash-free after you turned off XMP. Could memory training or compatibility issues be the cause?

It seems to be starting up in a mode that doesn’t produce any output because of a bios problem, like an unsupported setting. It usually restarts itself to either switch to the second bios or fully reset the main one back to defaults. Try setting the bios to 100% default and observe if the issue persists in that setup.

It seems like a reasonable possibility—though I’m curious about it every now and then. I’d think XMP should apply consistently unless there’s an issue, but since I haven’t explored the motherboard’s deeper settings, I’ll have to check it out.
