At the end of the month we’re planning a two-week road trip across the US and back. We’re checking if anyone knows about affordable prepaid 4G hotspots. Right now our regular plan gives us around 12GB, but I’d like a bit more flexibility for the journey. I haven’t found any good options with substantial data or unlimited plans that don’t cost several hundred dollars a month. Any tips or recommendations would be really helpful!

Your current plan supports extra data, and many offer it through one-time upgrades.

It's true, the cost is higher at $15 per gigabyte. I was looking for places with lower rates or better deals.

There is no such thing as "cheap" hotspot service. Prepaid options and especially unlimited plans come with significant data limits. A hotspot essentially means connecting your device to their network for activities like high-res gaming, movie streaming, and torrent sharing—something they warn you about using a lot of cellular bandwidth. It’s smarter to cap your usage and avoid relying on constant tech connections.
