Hey everyone. Amd just added new features to Gaming Evolved Windows, including game recording similar to Nvidias Shadowplay. I tried recording some gameplay and it functioned perfectly. I set the resolution to 1080p at 50Mb/s and got a smooth .mp4 file that played well in VLC. The problem started when I imported the file into Premiere Elements 12 for editing YouTube content—it only captured the audio. I experimented with various games and settings in Gaming Evolved, but the result stayed consistent. After converting the original video to an MP4 with H.264 encoding, it worked fine in PE. Anyone know if there’s a solution in Gam.Evo or PE to fix this?

I found a workaround myself. The issue stems from a bug in Premiere Elements across several updates. It only accepts audio for certain .mp4 and .avi files. I don’t understand why Adobe hasn’t addressed it. My fix was renaming the file from "test.mp4" to "test.mov," which allows me to import both audio and video into PE. Why isn’t this simple bug fixed despite existing since at least PE 9?

Consider renaming the file extension from ".mp4" to ".mov" as suggested. If this doesn't resolve the issue, you may need assistance from third-party tools to convert MP4 to MOV or MPEG-2 for Premiere Elements. Source: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1548912

People often face issues when importing MP4 videos into Adobe Premiere Elements, such as missing audio or codec errors. Some users reported success by switching the file extension from MP4 to MOV. I tried this approach and hoped it would resolve my problem. But after changing the extension, the files didn’t play well on my computer. I’m now looking for a better solution. Luckily, there’s a recommended method to make MP4 compatible with Premiere Elements 11. To convert MP4 to MPEG-2 smoothly, use a third-party tool for encoding.
