Uncertain why I'm experiencing this kind of performance. Usually I can quickly identify and fix network problems, but since it's built-in, I'm struggling to understand the slowdown. System: Ryzen 7 5800x Asus Prime B450M-A I (not II). Supports up to 1 GB with both adapters directly connected, no extensions or splitters. Speed fluctuates between over 120MBPS and dropping to around 70. Any suggestions on further troubleshooting? Thanks! *note* I recently lost internet access. The device near my PC appears to be off—no lights, nothing. Could it be a faulty unit? Maybe the connection point failed and is affecting both speed and stability?

the question seems unclear due to mixed case and notation. Are you checking the data rate in megabytes per second versus megabits per second? make sure the units match for clarity.

Powerline AV adapters can reach their claimed performance, but because of how Powerline AV networking functions, they might not always deliver those speeds everywhere. Other devices on the same electrical lines can cause interference, and certain circuits simply aren't well-suited for transmitting Powerline AV signals. You may want to test different outlets in your home, relocate to another house, or consider running Ethernet along the walls if feasible.

It looks like your internet connection has gone down completely. The device near your computer isn't showing any lights, which suggests a possible hardware issue or power problem. It might be a faulty unit, or the connection could have been interrupted by a dead socket.

Powerline is quite unreliable and prone to issues, making other networking methods likely more suitable. A few individuals manage to get it to function, but they usually accept slower performance for their needs. For faster and more dependable connections, avoid Powerline. While it offered a promising solution to a specific networking challenge, it should have been phased out long ago because of its inconsistencies.
