we understand the situation well. if the power button or its circuit isn’t functioning, you can try connecting a screwdriver or metal object to jump the pins together, which should activate the system. however, based on what happened, the PSU and its connection to the power switch pin appear to be faulty—after testing, both the PSU and the circuit were dead. shorting pins 4-5 on the 24-pin header from the bottom can restore power, or connecting one ungrounded pin directly to ground will turn it on. regarding the switch pins, they likely connect to the PSU’s power supply side—possibly to pins 4 and 5, which are often used for switching. since one of the power switches is grounded and the other isn’t clearly defined, checking your schematic or boardview file would help clarify their connections. I’m not sure if a relay or SMC is involved, but a temporary fix using shorting seems to work. If you need more details, sharing a reference schematic would be useful. Shorting those two pins should get the PC running again, but you’ll still need to replace the faulty switch for long-term reliability.
