Hey everyone. I tried linking my iPhone 12 to my PC using a USB-C to Lightning cable for browsing photos. When I plugged it in, there was a spark and the system shut down completely. It started back up, but now my phone doesn’t connect to the USB port at all. I think the cable works fine for charging, as it still powers my phone when connected to a charger. Device Manager shows the phone as "Unknown USB Device." I haven’t tried any other devices yet since I don’t have anything else to use. If anyone has tips on fixing this, especially with my B550 Aorus Pro AC motherboard, it would be really helpful.

It seems the connection was interrupted, possibly due to a misplaced USB-C into a USB-A port. This often causes an immediate shutdown, as the system shuts down when the USB connection is lost.

It's disappointing. I thought it might be a milder issue, but I was worried about the consequences. I guess I'll need a different motherboard to access the USB-C port.

I also messed up once, but good news my connection stayed alive. Fate was against me.
