Hi, do you think Corsair HX750 is suitable for your Ryzen 9 7950X? Your PSU only has an 8-pin connector for the CPU, without any extra 4-pin options. On your board, GIGABYTE X870 EAGLE WIFI7 supports 8+4 pins for the CPU.

It's wise to consult your motherboard manuals and websites to determine if both need to be filled in. I've encountered a situation with an Intel Z board featuring both 8-pin and 8-pin configurations, which worked without fully populating all M.2 slots. I also encountered boards that functioned with just one 4-pin slot. Given the powerful CPU, it seems sensible to verify this.

What GPU are they using? It consumes more energy than the CPU, which means the power supply must be designed accordingly. Generally, you only require additional memory power for a standard unit unless you're overclocking or utilizing many PCIe lanes.

It can handle up to 170W, but unless you intend to upgrade soon, a 750W power supply would suffice.

I'm using the RM850 PSU and I believe I connected a 4-way plus an 8-way connector to the motherboard. When I was running an RTX 3060 12GB in the rig, the whole machine pulled only 400W during video renders. The system includes a 7950X, two 32GB DDR5 modules, three 1TB M.2 drives, and five 3.5-inch hard disks.

Many people suggest you don't need the extra 4-way connector unless you're pushing a heavy overclock. I have PBO turned off, so my additional 4-way might be unnecessary, but it slightly reduces the voltage drop on the CPU supply rail.

I don't anticipate issues with an HX750 PSU until its warranty expires. How old is your HX750? If it's more than ten years old, think about replacing it. Electrolytics eventually lose moisture.
