Hello, here is your build details:
ryzen 3600 stock
msi b450 carbon AC
2 ssd (232 and 476 gb)
2 4tb hdd
no drives
16gb 3600mhz ram
I upgraded my gtx 780 to a MSI Gaming z Trio 3080 but I’m missing the psu cables.
my psu is the EVGA SuperNOVA 650 G+ but I only have two 6+2 pin pcie connectors even though my psu has 4 gpu power slots.
what options do I have? should I buy another cable or really need to replace my psu? power calculators online suggest it might be fine with the 650w i now...

How much older is your PSU? You should also be able to link your PSU to the GPU using the cables provided with it. The website mentions a 750W PSU, but a 650W model could work too—your decision depends on whether you prefer a new or used PSU.

I received the PSU in September 2019. The picture you provided looks accurate. There are just two 6+2 PCIe slots with VGA labels on them. I don’t think there’s a method to add a third one.

The website suggests a lower wattage, but with a new GPU you should aim for at least 850W. It mentions the risk of not having the right cables if your PSU isn't included, and that you can power two GPUs with the available sockets. Still, check other discussions before deciding.

The PSU features four PCI-e ports arranged in two chains connected via daisey cables. You can use one cable with two connectors and another with a single connector that has one end free. Due to the ACRF platform, the EVGA G+ isn't ideal for powering a 3080 graphics card.
