As mentioned, I left my computer running while preparing lunch when the power failed. It seemed fine at first but when it came back on, my PC stuck on the ASUS boot screen and didn’t respond to Del or F2. I suspected a BIOS issue, so I updated it but the problem continued. After several attempts, I removed and reinserted drives one by one until it worked. Now I’m focusing on getting the SSD to function again. I transferred it to another machine, connected it via USB-C to SATA adapter on my phone, and tested every SATA port. It only showed games, so I didn’t mind the data but couldn’t see it in BIOS or Disk Management. It’s a 512GB SSD, and I thought it was faulty from the start—just put games on it. After taking it apart, the LED still lit up, which gives me some hope. No clear signs of damage or shorts. I searched online but most advice was vague, suggesting changing SATA compatibility mode to IDE in BIOS. if you've already dismantled it, connect it to your USB-C to SATA adapter and let it rest for a minute. examine the PCB and check if any component or part is excessively warm—so hot you can't touch it. This issue is usually the only SSD failure that can be fixed, often due to a capacitor failing short, preventing the drive from receiving enough power.
You just completed the process. Everything remains cool, the PCB and controller are warming up a bit, while NAND flash and back dots stay unaffected.
That’s what I’m considering. I’ll just stop and update it occasionally to check if it resolves itself. It seems like the old hard drive is back for me.
