Power consumption is increasing unexpectedly.
upgraded to windows 11 four days ago the first four days I’m seeing normal battery life around 4 hours and 80 to 40 percent usage. Today it dropped below an hour. In Task Manager I found a process named “System is consuming high power” using between 1 to 4 percent CPU, which seems to drain my battery. I ran a command prompt to gather more details and here’s what I saw: the process is taking up a large share of processor time during the trace. It’s likely related to the system name “SystemRoot\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository”. This could be an issue specific to Windows 11—should I revert to Windows 10?
Moved to Windows *** Which version are you referring to? ntoskrnl.exe is a core Windows process. nvdddmkm.sys likely points to an Nvidia driver updater. If GeForce Experience is installed, it may be checking for updates regularly. The bottom file could be related to DirectX but I’m not sure.
