Recently my laptop is experiencing current and power limit throttling. Sometimes the power status switches between plugged in and unplugged when using the charger. I've tried various fixes from online sources—reparating, undervolting, adjusting power limits, boosting power settings, and even testing another charger with matching specs—but nothing resolved it. Eventually, I took it to a service center, who suggested replacing the motherboard. They mentioned that both the power IC and the motherboard might need replacement. I'm wondering if the issue is solely due to the power IC and if it can be fixed by swapping it out. The laptop model is an ASUS GL-503GE with an I5-8300H processor, 8GB RAM, GTX 1050Ti graphics.

It might be due to a weak connection between the charging port and the charger.

They said the whole motherboard needs replacing. Is it possible the power IC is the cause?
