Hey, you're doing great with your overclocking experiments! It sounds like Hydra is giving you better results than PBO Curve and CTR 2.1. The random temperature spikes you're seeing are likely due to the software not updating quickly enough to match sudden load changes. Those spikes are brief—usually under 6ms—and don’t seem to pose a long-term risk, especially since your power usage and temps are already much lower than previous setups. Just keep an eye on them during intense workloads, but they shouldn’t harm your CPU’s lifespan.

Due to the brief nature of the temperature rise, it shouldn't pose a serious risk. Danger arises mainly when temperatures consistently exceed 115°C for extended periods, leading to CPU wear from prolonged overheating.

It's unusual to see the die average exceeding all core readings by such a large margin. Could there be an issue with the data or interpretation? It might be worth double-checking the source or context.

Prob just a bug like shown here except the "cpu" temperature in my case is 429 million c instead of 102c

I believe it happened while I was tinkering with a 1500mhz DDR2 OC on my P5Q board. The main reason it gets so hot is the poor cooling setup and only about 4.2 volts at around 1.35v for stability. These parts actually perform well, but my X5660 definitely struggles with that.
