I’m not very familiar with overclocking, and I’m not sure why I decided to try it but here I am. I used a YouTube guide to understand the basics and followed it closely. My system has a 7700k processor, a Zotac Amplitude Extreme 1070, 16 GB of RAM, and a Gigabyte K7 MOBO. After going through the instructions, I noticed my second monitor stopped connecting to the graphics card. I tried to ignore any adjustments I could make to the GPU, but nothing changed. I restarted the computer and the same issue persisted—no signal to the second monitor. I disconnected the monitor from the DVI port and tested the HDMI connection; it worked perfectly. Interestingly, when I switched to HDMI, the monitor remained on DVI output, which was still not working. I unplugged the HDMI cable and the screen turned off, saying no signal. Then I removed my main monitor, which uses a display port, and the second screen came back on. I took out the GPU, reset the CMOS, and reconfigured the BIOS, but it still failed. As long as both HDMI and DVI cables were connected to the second monitor simultaneously, everything functioned normally. However, once the HDMI cable was unplugged, no signal appeared. This whole experience was a result of trying an overclocking attempt without proper knowledge. Any advice would be really appreciated. Thank you.

Didn't grasp any part of that message. What software were you using to overclock?

Sorry for the mix-up, haha. I was really late and felt a bit frustrated. I don’t recall the exact guide at first, but when I get home from work today, I’ll look it up and explain things more clearly. The software I tried to overclock was Zotacs Firestorm.

Is the monitor automatically recognizing the input? Please try selecting the desired input manually.

The monitor automatically chooses settings, but even after changing the input to DVI, it keeps displaying "no signal." This helps clarify the issue further.

So here are all the tools and resources I used.
The overclocking software was likely an older version of it (I’m not sure if that matters much since the newest update exists).
This tutorial guided me through the process:
View: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k1dGwFOdFLI
I reached the point where I unlocked the power limit and temperature target, pushing them to their maximum.
Before my second monitor lost signal, I didn’t alter the core clock or memory clock.
My complete PC parts list can be found here:
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/tj2BbX
Additionally, there’s a full video that details the strange problem caused by adjusting voltage and temperature targets.

Feel free to ask if you need anything clarified. Thanks for your help!

I went through the same steps as before when I overclocked, but I used MSI Afterburner.
Consider reinstalling the GPU drivers using DDU. If that doesn't solve your issue, I'd say the DVI cable is likely faulty and you should get a new one.
